New Release
Girl From Cuba E.P.
Catalog #: JLR-017
Featuring Zeb, Professor Smith & Dub Theory with Jason Howell
Jah Love is proud to present “Girl from Cuba”. This release is a special collaboration between some of the hottest artists in underground music. New York City’s Zeb (IRMA, Codek) produced “Girl From Cuba” the title track for the release. San Francisco’s Professor Smith (XLR8R, Voltage) & Dub Theory featuring Jason Howell (Jah Love) deliver remixes ranging from Deep House to Down Tempo Dub. Zeb’s original track “Girl from Cuba”, features the Steppin’ Razor himself (Peter Tosh) in an early 1970’s interview. The arrangement is just as politically relevant today as it was back in the 1960’s & 1970’s
A1. Girl from Cuba embodies the future of Dub. Zeb is an exceptional live guitar player in the New York underground scene performing with Organic Grooves. He is featured on labels such as IRMA, Codek, Kickin’ Records (Stoned Asia Music) & Jah Love.
A2. Girl from Cuba (Words of The Steppin’ Razor Remix) Professor Smith composed this one in his underground lair, hidden deep in San Francisco. This remix combines spaced out delays & classic bass-lines to create a new down-tempo hybrid.
B1. Girl from Cuba (Dub Rework) Dub Theory’s Ivan-I teams up with Jason Howell for this remix. San Francisco Dub-House at its best.
This is the first in a series of limited edition pressings, mastered by L. Henry Sarmiento II.
